55% of the electors did not proceed to vote during the second round of the Municipal and Regional elections, more than the first round. The candidates supported by PASOK won at 8 regions (included Attiki) while the candidates supported by ND won at 5 regions.

Big surprise was the election of Giorgos Kaminis of PASOK that overpassed Nikitas Kaklamanis and won tha battle in Athens, after 24 years of domination of candidates supported by ND.

Huge victory for Giannis Boutaris in Thessaloniki who didn't have big difference, just 329 votes, from Kostas Gioulekas supported by ND. In Pireus Vassilis Michaloliakos of ND elected as Mayor, while in Patra the battle won the independent candidate Ioannis Dimaras.
